We are so excited for next week. My mom ( Grandma Eggs) , John (Grandpa silly guys) and Uncle Chris will be here. We will spend 4 days in Dalian and then we will be off to see Xian and Beijing. It will be so much fun. People keep asking what are you most excited to do. I am excited to just give them hugs. The boys are excited to show them around. It should be an amazing time.
This week Matthew amazed us. He was asked to be the Mystery Reader for a 5th grade class. He sent clues to Megan to show her students. Clue 1 I want to be a zoologist when I get older. Clue 2 I like to read the Magic tree house books. Clue 3 I am a student at DAIS. Clue 4 My favorite game is Wii Mario cart. Clue 5 I have one brother and one adopted sister. The students then had to guess who he was. Then Matthew got to a read a story to the class. He was so excited it was really cute. He did an amazing job. One of the students said that he was impressed that a first grader would be willing to read to the fifth graders. Matthew just smiled.
Last weekend we went into Dalian and learned how to make Sushi. It was a lot of fun. The boys loved to help and there were cameras everywhere. ( YES, taking pictures of the expats) It was another fun adventure.
Doug and I spent today cooking. :) We made muffins, homemade tortillas, meals for the week and cookies. Tomorrow is Doug's 4oth and we are going out with friends tonight to celebrate.
new pictures to come soon

Doug- Year of the Dog
Carlee and Isaac - Year of the Monkey
Can you believe that it is MARCH. Wow lots of exciting things are happening this month. Doug is turning 40 on the 14th ( I can write this because I am pretty sure he is not going to read it), Grandma Eggs, Grandpa John and Uncle Chris are coming to see us on the 17th. We are so excited!!!! We have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to.
This last week was a lot of fun. We went downtown to People square and finally saw where the big soccer ball is. We went with our friends Ed and Cheryl, Carlee and Torrii. It was a great adventure.
Matthew- Year of the Horse
Campus Village had a celebration for lantern festival. The first full moon of every lunar new year falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month. This day is also known as the Lantern Festival in China. It marks the official end to the two-week Spring Festival celebration.
As the name "Lantern Festival" suggests, lanterns play a leading role in the celebration. As the first full moon of the new year rises, people come out to enjoy the spectacle of thousands of colorful lanterns, blazing in the night.
Me- Year of the Rat
We were able to see some amazing performers. We saw a dragon dance, acrobatic contortionist, singers, musicians and much more. Then the kids made a Chinese treat and walked around the complex with lanterns. They had a great time. The the fireworks started, the BIG boys let off 34 minutes of amazing fireworks. It was quite a show. It will make it hard to watch other shows back in the U.S. Fireworks have been going off nonstop these days. We are starting to not even pay attention.
She was amazing
Year of the Tiger

Matthew got the stomach flu on Friday and we had to come home early from school. He is much better now.
The boys are having their first sleepover since being in China. They were so excited that when we got home from school they each had everything packed and ready to go. Now why does it take so long to get ready in the morning. hmmm I will need to remind them of this. :)
