Happy Chinese New Year

It has been a relaxing and fun Chinese New Year. We have been hanging out and seeing what we can during this break. We went to a firework show and it was truly amazing. The sky was filled with fireworks. If more would of been shot off you couldn't have seen them. It was just beautiful and COLD :)

Here are some pictures to enjoy

First Visitor!!!

We were so excited this week when we got our first visitor. Flat Lauren came to visit us from Cedarhome Elementary School in Stanwood. It was great to have her here. We hope she can stay for a few weeks so she can enjoy Chinese New Year. Here are some pictures of what she has done so far in China.

Isaac is holding Flat Lauren. Can you find Matthew?

Can you read the sign?

Flat Lauren even got a face mask to keep her warm.

Harbin International Ice Festival

Snow house

The boys a slide

all made from ICE!! It was amazing

amazing

These last few weeks have been extremely busy for Doug and I. Our school is going through accreditation so we are on committee’s and working late. This past weekend we went on an adventure to Harbin, China, to see the international Ice festival. We left home at 6:00 and 25 of us headed to the airport. It was an amazing adventure and Doug and I are so proud of the boys. They never complained. They were troopers. On Saturday the weather was -10° C and on Sunday it was -20° C. It was downright cold. I wore 4 layers on the bottom and top. Words just can’t express how amazing it was. The boys loved the ice slides and being able to walk across a frozen lake and river.

Here are just a few pictures. I will post a few more tomorrow
